Credits Now Available for Purchase
In coordination with the Nature Conservancy and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Thunderstruck Conservation has established an 600 acre habitat conservation bank for the management and permanent protection of high quality habitat for the Cheat Mountain Salamander, West Virginia northern flying squirrel and other sensitive and endangered species which inhabit high elevation red spruce forests. The "Thunderstruck Conservation Bank" is located in Randolph County West Virginia and offsets endangered species impacts in the West Virginia Highlands.

Credit Purchasing Process

  • Credit Requirements - Individuals or companies seeking mitigation credits must consult with the US Fish and Wildlife Service to determine the number of credits required.
  • Service Area - Thunderstruck Conservation Bank credits will be available to enterprises impacting the known habitat range of the Cheat Mountain Salamander. High Mountain Elevation Mitigation is available on a per case bases and should be discussed with Bank Representative.
